‘JEAN MICHEL JARRE: 2010’ WORLD TOUR - TURKISH DATE ADDED

Jean Michel Jarre’s Management have just confirmed to JARRE UK today, that another date has been added to Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘2010′ World Tour, this time in Turkey in June 2010.

The extra date added is an Outdoor Concert, the third Outdoor Concert announced so far for Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘2010′ World Tour, in Istanbul’s Turkcell Kurucesme Arena, Turkey on June 15th 2010.

Tickets for the extra date in Turkey are scheduled to go on sale soon, and will be available directly from Biletix (www.biletix.com). Tickets for all of the remaining dates in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Romania, Norway, France, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England and Switzerland are now on sale, full details of which are as follows:-

‘JEAN MICHEL JARRE: 2010’ WORLD TOUR - SWISS DATE ADDED

Jean Michel Jarre’s Management have just confirmed to JARRE UK today, that another date has been added to Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘2010′ World Tour, this time in Switzerland in November 2010.

The extra date added is an Indoor Concert, in Geneva’s Geneva Arena, Switzerland on November 5th 2010, a venue where Jean Michel Jarre last performed at as part of his ‘OXYGENE WORLD TOUR’ in 1997.

Tickets for the extra date in Switzerland are on sale now, as are Tickets for the remaining dates in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Romania, Norway, France, Ireland and England. Tickets for Scotland and Wales are scheduled to go on sale on April 19th 2010, full details of which are as follows:-

‘JEAN MICHEL JARRE: 2010’ WORLD TOUR - NORWEGIAN, UK & IRISH DATES ADDED

Jean Michel Jarre’s Management have just confirmed to JARRE UK today, that another 4 dates have been added to Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘2010′ World Tour, this time in Norway, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in August and October 2010.

The extra date added in Norway will be an Outdoor Concert outside Oslo’s Akershus Festning (Akershus Fortress), Norway on August 28th 2010, which will also see the Norwegian Electronic Group, Röyksopp, and other European Electronic Music Artists perform throughout the afternoon before Jean Michel Jarre performs his ‘2010′ Concert in the evening, accompanied by a spectacular firework display. An English Translation of the Official Norwegian Press Release is as follows:-

On 28. August Oslo will witness a spectacular event when superstar Jean Michel Jarre holds a concert at the Akershus Fortress. Together with artists such as Röyksopp, The Very Best and The New Wine, this is Jean Michel Jarre’s first outdoor show in Norway, a show that will conclude with huge fireworks in Oslo by night.

This is a big party for the whole city, where young and old will have a great experience. Jean Michel Jarre is famous for his spectacular concerts around the world, and drew over three and a half million people to his concert in Moscow, says organizer Peer Osmundsvaag in Atomic Soul. With Röyksopp, The Very Best and The New Wine we could not have found a better and more spectacular opening of this wonderful place!

Akershus Fortress will with its great location and historical importance form the framework for the concert, a concert where we exploit the fortress’ potential as a public arena. This is the first time Akershus open all its area for such a type of event.

Jean Michel Jarre is a living legend in electronic music. He has sold over 80 million records and is famous for his spectacular concerts worldwide. His big breakthrough came in 1976 with the album “Oxygene” and Jarre’s live performances in Moscow, Paris and Houston, have all been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest concerts. Jarre has also held concerts at landmarks like the Acropolis in Athens, the pyramids of Cairo and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Parts of Jarre’s live show at the Akershus Fortress will be synchronized with a gigantic fireworks show that will go into the history of Oslo.

We do not want to miss this opportunity, and we want to impress the audience too. Size-wise, this will go into the history books, and we may use up to one tonne of fireworks, says the manager of fireworks Espen Kolstad in Engelsrud NFI Fireworks.

The company has previously organized the fireworks at the opening of the Operahouse in Bjørvika and the People’s Theatre at Youngstorget.

Jean Michel Jarre along with Röyksopp can be seen as an interaction between two different generations of electronic musicians, both artists have inspired each other. Röyksopp have won the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Award) seven times, and is without a doubt one of the world’s largest electronic groups. The duo has released three studio albums, all of which have topped the charts in Norway and is widely known for their collaborations with other international stars.

In addition, the French/Swedish/Malawian group “The Very Best” and a band from Bergen “The New Wine” will perform. More names are expected to the concert, which will be published in the spring.”

The extra dates added in the UK and Ireland are all Indoor Concerts, the first in Glasgow’s Braehead Arena, Scotland on October 3rd 2010, the second in Dublin’s The O2, Ireland on October 4th 2010, and the last in Cardiff’s CIA, Wales on October 6th 2010.

Jean Michel Jarre’s Management have also just confirmed Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘2010′ World Tour Concert in Athens’ Faliro Pavillion Tae-Kwon-Do (Olympic Tae-Kwon-Do Stadium), Greece on June 1st 2010, which we previously published on March 21st 2010.

Tickets for the date in Norway are on sale now, whereas Tickets for the Ireland date are scheduled to go on sale tomorrow. Tickets for both the Scotland and Wales dates are scheduled to go on pre-sale tomorrow, before going on sale next week on April 19th 2010.
